Northern New Mexico Hunting & Fishing Conservation Exhibition
Head to Red River this exciting event that includes a Big Money Fishing Derby, demonstrations, exhibitors, retailers,outfitters, archery shoot, a wild game cook-off, and more at this great his & her weekend in Red River.
Exhibitors include New Mexico Game & Fish (OHV simulator and laser-tag sure shot), Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, New Mexico Trout, and the Carson National Forest. Retailers from around Red River will be on-site with their outdoor recreation supplies and apparel, along with other goodies for the whole family.
FREE admission to all events at the Red River Conference Center.
Big Money Fishing Derby
Use your skills to fish for cash! On Friday from 6 pm - 8pm and Saturday from 7 am - 3 pm 250 anglers will be given the opportunity to fish for 50 tagged trout spread out between four ponds in Red River. Each tagged fish will be worth cash or a prize, with multiple fishes tagged for guaranteed cash. Tickets for the Big Money Fishing Derby are $15 each and are on sale now at the Red River Chamber of Commerce. Register by May 6th for a chance to win a $500 Coleman Camping Package from Camping World! All anglers must have a New Mexico fishing license (which you can get here). Each participant is limited to three tagged fish, so bring your whole family! Get your ticket(s) by calling the Chamber at (800) 348-6444 x. 1. Good luck!
Wild Game Cook-off
Maybe fishing isn't your thing but you can work magic in the kitchen. On Saturday, head to the Red River Conference Center with your best wild game dish and enter in the Wild Game Cook-off. There is no entry fee for this fun event and the top two winners receive CASH prizes ($100 for first place, $50 for second place). Turn in time is at 12:30 pm. All entries will be judged by a panel. Archery Shoot
From 10 am - 6 pm Friday and 12 pm - 4pm Saturday, show off your archery skills for a cash prize! Each shot is $5 and the best archers will make it to the finals Saturday afternoon. The top shot in the finals is worth $100, the second place shot will win $50, and the top jr. archer (15 and under) will win a compound bow! Sign up at the Chamber booth in the conference center.
