Oktoberfest
Time: 10am - 6pm
Location: Brandenburg Park
Head to Red River Columbus Day Weekend for Oktoberfest, a celebration of all things German! Red River's alpine setting makes it the perfect spot for this annual event. Authentic German food and music, microbreweries & wineries, food vendors, arts and crafts exhibitors, entertaining games and contests, and family friendly activities.
BREWERIES:
This year we welcome Santa Fe Brewing Company, Comanche Creek Brewing, and Tenth & Blake (Blue Moon and a variety of microbrews by MillerCoors). Get your commemorative taster mug or pint glass when you get here, or you can just buy beer directly from the breweries.
BEER JUDGING:
Friday is beer judging day, with the People's Choice competition beginnign at noon. Sample different beers then vote for your favorite!
SKI TRIP GIVEAWAYS!
Saturday: College Day
Wear something that represents your favorite NCAA football team to be entered into a giveaway for a two night ski trip for four this winter. You will receive one entry for each piece of college team clothing, so go BIG!
Sunday: Last Call for Fall
Games and contests all day! Enter the brat eating contest. yodeling contest, chicken dance contest, rootbeer chugging contest, or all four. Each contest gives you another entry into Sunday's giveaway for a two night ski trip for two this winter.
MS. OKTOBERFEST COMPETITION:
Wear your lovliest Oktoberfest outfit or dirndl and come compete for $100 in Chamber of Commerce gift certificates (can be used at any Chamber member in Red RIver), a tiara and sash, and bragging rights. The competition includes a stein holding competition and obstacle course and starts at 1pm Saturday. Glück (good luck)!
KEG KRAWL:
Check out the Keg Krawl Saturday afternoon as contestants attempt to carry full kegs from Brandenburg Park to the Bull o' the Woods Saloon. Ladies are also invited to compete this year with pony kegs. Another fabulous way to win cash and great prizes! All contestants are invited to a free bratwurst buffett at the Bull o' the Woods after the Keg Krawl is over. Interested in entering? Look for the Chamber of Commerce booth in the park for information.
