4th of July Parade & Celebration

Time: 9:00 am

Join us for the largest parade in northern New Mexico, followed by family-friendly activities all over town.

The parade will start at 9:00 am, followed by activities, BBQ, and live music in Brandenburg Park.  Max Gomez will perform at Brandenburg Park from 1pm - 4pm, and the Kwahadi Indian Dancers will perform prior to their show at the Community House.  Church services will also take place at the Community House and the First Baptist Church of Red River.  The Chamber of Commerce will host the Miss Fireworks, Lil' Miss Firecracker, and Lil' Miss Sparkler pageants the afternoon of the 4th. 

Lil' Miss Sparkler (ages 4 - 7): Winner will receive tiara, sash, and $10

Lil' Miss Firecracker (ages 8 - 12): Winner will receive tiara, sash, and $10

Miss Firecracker (ages 13 and up): Winner will receive tiara, sash, and $40 in Chamber of Commerce gift certificates


Activities around Red River:

9:00 am – Main Street Parade *

10:30 am – Church Service at the Community House with Rev. Kenneth Wyatt

10:30 am – Games in Brandenburg Park

11:30 am - BBQ and Beer Garden in Brandenburg Park, with live music from Max Gomez (1pm - 4pm) & the Kwahadi Dancers (2 pm)

12:00 pm – Old Fashioned Games on the Community House Lawn

1:00 pm – Lil’ Miss Sparkler & Lil’ Miss Firecracker Pageants at the Community House*

1:00 pm - Smithsonian Exhibit at the Community House (until 4:00 pm)

3:00 pm – Miss Fireworks Pageant in Brandenburg Park*

4:00 pm – Kwahadi Dancers at the Community House

4:00 pm – Red River Valley Charter School Duck Race (register in front of Town Hall)

4:00 pm - Gunfight at Frye's Old Town

7:00 pm – Old Fashioned Sing Song at the Community House
